
Shiremoor Health Centre and Service Centre
The Health Centre and Pharmacy opened to the public on 13 June 2005.
The Service Centre opened to the public on 8 October 2007.
The Shiremoor Health Centre is a new facility housing existing services from the former Shiremoor Health Centre. The range of health services provided from the centre includes:
General Practice
- Space for ten GPs, currently configured as one practice for four GPs and two practices for three GPs
PCT Community Services
- Anticoagulation (blood clinic)
- Chiropody
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
- District nursing
- Bed-wetting (enuretic clinic)
- Health visitors
- Adult mental health services
- Community midwives
- Nutrition and dietetic services
- Orthoptist
- Community psychology
- Community psychiatric nursing (CPN)
- Audiology hearing, screening and assessment
- Physiotherapy
- Speech and language therapy
- Welfare food sales
- School health advisor
- Nurse practitioners
- Community disability service
- Community development workers
- Family planning services
Local Authority Services
The Service Centre provides a customer service facility and library for North Tyneside Council and is linked to the Health Centre. Next door is a Sure Start centre and a council centre providing access to various council run and voluntary services.
Pharmacy
A pharmacy and shop operated by the Seaton Valley Co-Operative Society
