The Walker Centre

Opened to the public on 23 May 2005.

The Walker Centre is a new facility housing existing services from the former Walker Health Centre and some PCT and Newcastle City Council services. The range of services provided from the centre includes:

General Practice

  • One doctors' practice of seven GPs

PCT Community Services

  • Chiropody / podiatry
  • Welfare food
  • Health visiting
  • District nursing
  • Consulting suite for dietetics, health visitors, Sure Start, district nurses
  • Community dentist
  • Mental health
  • Physiotherapy - initial assessment only

Newcastle City Council Services

  • Housing office - Your Homes Newcastle
  • Welfare Rights office
  • Customer service facility, providing access to a range of other council services
