The newly completed West end Customer Service Centre opened to the public on the 17/11/08. Its official opening ceremony was held on the 09/02/09 & the centre was opened by Sharuna Sagar.

The newly completed East End Customer Service Centre in Byker opened to the public on the 03/11/08. It was officially opened by David Wood, Lord Mayor on 13/01/09
